Blepharoplasty is a surgical procedure used to improve the appearance of upper and lower eyelids. This procedure is performed under local anesthesia and has minimal downtime.
Blepharoplasty – Upper Eyelid
Blepharoplasty of the upper eyelid can be performed to correct sagging upper eyelids that leave an individual with an aged and tired appearance. Excess skin also can cause difficulties in wearing eye makeup due to folding and redundancy. Surgical correction can reverse these undesirable results creating a more youthful and awake appearance. In addition, removal of upper eyelid skin and fat pads can lead to improved visual fields.
Blepharoplasty – Lower Eyelid
Blepharoplasty of the lower eyelid can be performed to reduce fat volume and excess skin. The procedure can be carried out using a conjunctival (inside) approach or through the skin muscle flap (outside) approach under the eyelash. If only fat removal is desired, a conjunctival approach is generally recommended.
The results can dramatically improve your overall facial appearance providing you with a more youthful, refreshed look.
